A landscape photography blog by Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire based landscape photographer Rob Thorley Photography.

A quick couple of hours out up The Roaches in the Staffordshire Peak District this evening. It was more a case of blowing away a few cobwebs before being back at work tomorrow than anything else.

There was nothing in the weather forecast to suggest there was to be anything epic this evening but I thought I’d go for some side light on Ramshaw Rocks. Unfortunately being popular, and a nice day it was rammed up there. In the end I found myself up around Blake Mere (The Mermaid Pool), and decided to shoot a few panoramas as the sun set.

The Roaches at sunset.

This silhouette image is a “classic” view of Hen Cloud, The Roaches, and a distant Bosley Cloud in Cheshire.

You can view more images from The Roaches, and my gallery of other Peak District locations.
