Swineholes Wood is located at Ipstones Edge in the Staffordshire Moorlands, and is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The site itself consists of three parcels of land, these are Swineholes Wood, Black Heath and Casey Banks. Transitioning between the lower and upper moorlands the site is considered an important heathland area.
