Foel & Rhos Quarry
A selection of images from Foel and Rhos quarries by Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire based landscape photographer Rob Thorley Photography.
Foel and Rhos quarries are both situated to the south of Capel Curig on the eastern slopes of Moel Siabod. Foel quarry dates from around the 1830's, and was in operation until around the 1880’s. Foel quarry has ruins of the barracks, stables, and dressing mills in varying states of disrepair. Rhos quarry dates from around the 1850's, and was closed in 1952. Rhos quarry ruins of the barracks, smithy, weighbridge and dressing mills in varying states of disrepair.
Both locations have extensive views eastwards of the Eryri National Park.
