Carl Wark & Higger Tor

It was one of those days that falls into the uninspired category. I’d headed out into the Peak District to take a look at Carl Wark and Higger Tor. To be honest it was mid morning, and as such it was more of a scouting mission, but I always hope for a little more when I’m out.
A green landscape, blue skies and hazy sun though didn’t inspire me. That said it was good to have a mooch around to get the lie of the land. The views either way work well with a nice sunrise, or sunset, and I’m sure a carpet of heather in full bloom would make for some decent images.
I took a few shots from both locations for future reference and then went off in search of the “KitKat” stones on Higger Tor. Believe it or not this is the second time I’d been in search of them and not found them. I’m not sure what I’m missing. I even stood on Higger Tor with the classic composition for them but they’re not there!
I will be back to this location to photograph it in optimal conditions as I think it has lots of potential. Next time I visit I’ll also not be leaving until I’ve found those elusive stones.
