Doxey Pool sunset.

I'd gone up on top of The Roaches in the Staffordshire Peak District hoping to capture a sunset shot. I hadn't really got a composition in mind, and it was more a case of being up top, so I could go with whichever way the sky looked best.

Doxey Pool sunset.

Words that I'll probably repeat often . . . As it turned out the best of the light was to be had just before the sun set. The obligatory bank of cloud rolled in to snuff out the light, and sunset itself turned into a bit of a drab affair.

You can view more images from The Roaches, and my gallery of other Peak District locations.
