December already! For myself this meant that I was back at Llyn y Dywarchen in the Eryri National Park. I have a love, hate relationship with this location. The first time I visited I stepped up on to a low wall, no more than eighteen inches, the wind blew my back off. I stepped onto a grass tuft, and snap. The result a broken leg, and a few months out of action.

Today was visit number three. I’d gone back with a view to “going high”, and getting something other than the the "normal” shots. There was no snow on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), but I was treated to some nice light at sunrise.

Llyn y Dywarchen is in one of the quieter spots of Eryri, and is well worth a visit. There’s lots of compositions to work that include mountains, the lake, the boat house, and a number of ruined buildings. I think the next time I visit will be after a snow fall, or if a very heavy frost is forecast as that will complete capturing this spot in all of the seasons.

You can view more images from Llyn y Dywarchen, and my gallery of other North Wales locations.
